Senior Officer Beach Retreat

Recap of the Masonic Planning Retreat at Carolina Beach

This past July, our Masonic group embarked on an exciting planning retreat at the beautiful Carolina Beach, where we mapped out our activities for 2025 and enjoyed some well-deserved downtime together. Here’s a recap of our adventures.

Friday
Our journey began bright and early with a 5 a.m. departure from the lodge; a few of us decided to fly down to Wilmington International Airport, ready for a day filled with activities. Upon arrival we rented a six person lifted golf cart for the weekend, grabbed some cigars and got supplies for the weekend. We enjoyed our first night relaxing at the beach and exploring Carolina Beach Boardwalk Amusement Park, We enjoyed Cherry Blossom Sushi & Britt’s Doughnuts. After the beach, we did an Escape Room, and got close to solving the puzzle, but ran out of time near the end.

Saturday
Saturday started with a hearty breakfast at Malama Cafe before we headed to the Carolina Beach Farmers' Market. We took a scenic hike at Carolina Beach State Park, embracing the natural beauty of the area. After our hike we stopped and visited Federal Point Lodge No. 753 where we were greeted and welcomed by a few brothers of the lodge who showed us around and explained Freemasonry and how it is different in North Carolina v. Pennsylvania. Later in the evening, we gathered for dinner at Havana’s Restaurant, followed by some billiards and live music at a local bar, which generated some great stories and memories.

Sunday
After breakfast at Kate's Pancake House, we rented a boat from Freedom Boat Club, where we enjoyed some time on the water. After a day out in the sun, we gathered around a fire pit for dinner, sharing stories and laughter under the stars.

Monday
Before heading home, we enjoyed a hearty breakfast at Granny's Country Kitchen, fueling up for our visit to the Battleship North Carolina. It was a perfect way to wrap up our retreat, reflecting on our plans for the upcoming year.

Conclusion
This retreat not only provided a productive environment for planning but also strengthened our bonds through shared experiences and fun activities. We’re excited about the upcoming year and can’t wait to implement the ideas we discussed.

Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to making this retreat a success. Here’s to a fantastic 2025 ahead!
